Behemoth

THE PLOT:

Underwater dumping of radioactive waste creates a new monster, a newly discovered dinosaur. Dubbed Behemoth, the creature is now radioactive and able to project radiation waves as a defense.

As Behemoth goes on a rampage, low caliber weapons bounce off a shield and more powerful bombs may trigger a nuclear explosion, so unless they can find a way to bring down the behemoth without explosives or England is doomed.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

Another classic monster from from the decade that had the most monster movies. Now I got to admit I wasn't impressed by the Behemoth when I first saw it. It looked just like a bad puppet. But then they change to stop motion and I got to admit for something not connected to Ray Harryhausen I was impressed. The story works and the radiation powers is cool, all and all a cool movie. 9 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree with Zedd, even though this is the stand monster rampage movie, nothing we really haven't seen before or since for that matter. But it's a clever little movie worth watching and the effects are somewhat impressive. 8 STARS.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ EFFECTS (Most of the effects are impressive.)
+ STORY (Standard but works.)
+ CAST (The cast does do a great job.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- NOTHING NEW (Nothing really new, stuff we've seen before and since.)
- HEAD EFFECT (The head emerging out of the water could have been better.)

...AND FINALLY...

- FAN BASED (If you aren't a fan of the standard giant dinosaur rampage concept, then this isn't for you.)
