THE PLOT:

Little Jill gets a pet gorilla as a present, but ten years later we learn that Joe is no ordinary gorilla as he is huge and explorers decide to talk Jill into putting Joe into showbiz.

Which with Joe's temper could end up to be a bad idea and nobody better mess with Joe's girl while Joe's around.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

Strange question, how did Joe get so big in such a short time? That's one question they never really answer in this but other then that it's a pretty cool movie with lots of interesting characters and amazing effects for the time. Just a marvelous movie worth watching. 9 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

Once again I agree with Zedd, Mighty Joe Young and a young Ray Harryhausen proves that good filmmaking can be done with a modest budget. Now this story isn't for everyone, if you're expecting another KING KONG, you are in for a surprise, the story is nothing like KONG. 9 STARS as well.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ STORY (Far different then Kong.)
+ CAST (The cast does a great job.)
+ EFFECTS (Incredible effects for the time.)
+ CHARACTERS (The characters were great.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- SLOW (Like most movies of this time period it drags at times.)
- HOW (They never explained why he grew so big.)

...AND FINALLY...

- FAN BASED (If you are expecting a movie like Kong, then you will be disappointed.)
