THE PLOT:

A film crew travels to a remote island to shot a film. They pick up a starving out of work actress named Ann Darrow as the lead. Once they arrive on the island Ann is kidnapped by the natives and sacrificed to a monster gorilla they refer to only as Kong.

A team goes after Ann in the wilds of a strange prehistoric land of dinosaur and giant insects to find and rescue Ann before it's too late.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

This is a true classic in every sense of the word. A classic, but would I say a perfect movie? No, I would not say perfect. Like many movies of the time period it drags on at times and there is a mistake. The animatronic Kong head had flat teeth when the stop motion had fangs in the canine areas. 8 STARS

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

As Zedd said so I shall agree, I got tired of saying I agree with Zedd on this. Even though I do. The story works if not draggy, the effects are impressive, but the animatronics and the stop motion people should have talked more. 8 STARS as well.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ CLASSIC (A true classic in every sense of the word.)
+ CHARACTERS (The characters were well written.)
+ ACTING (The acting was great.)
+ EFFECTS (For the most part great.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- EFFECTS MISMATCH (The face on the robot Kong don't exactly match stop motion Kong.)
- SLOW (Like many movies of this time it can get draggy.)

...AND FINALLY...

- FAN BASED (If you aren't into giant monsters, then this isn't for you.)
